Cwm Pennant Reviews

This is a beautiful place and for what we wanted it was perfect. Clean and tidy and warm and comfortable. It has however got some things that need fixing, wardrobe door was off and just propped up, the en suite had mold on roof buld need replacing and skirting board a piece that kept falling off. Besides this we loved it x
Hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Cobwebs, dirty bed linen, mould, and mushrooms growing within the shower tiles in the ensuite bathroom. Very little provided for guests' use only one partially used toilet roll per bathroom, no kitchen roll, no kitchen scissors, no ironing board, no hair dryer. No tumble drier for use after the hot hub. Dish cloth and tea towel provided were dirty. Welcome Pack contained pack of open biscuits! No bin bags provided. Outside bins overflowing resulting in rubbish going into the garden. Unsafe and unsecure garden for the dog, no maintenance had been carried out. Many things broken within the cottage wardrobe door, dining room chair, mirror, toilet flush button, and the door key was bent, making it difficult to operate.
Me and another 5 friends stayed at this property we had a lovely stay and would definitely return again

The bungalow is fabulous, large size rooms and great location and a handy shop across the road. Only disappointment is the Sykes customer service. Our hot tub had dirty water and temperature remained at 22c and would not increase to 40c which is too cold, especially in October. I did contact the owner a few times as advertised for any problems, but they never responded to my calls or messages. I also contacted Sykes a few times who promised they would return my call but never did. Sykes falsely advertised their customer service is 24 hour, 7 days a week available as this is not so. Nobody answered phones over weekend we arrived on Saturday neither did anyone reply to my phone calls, which they promised. I feel very disappointed as we were looking forward to using the hot tub

The property was lovely & we enjoyed our stay here, but could improve with a few additional things, no hooks anywhere to hang coats, no airer to hang washing on or clothes line outside, had to go out and buy one, the ensuite bathroom needs maintenance the shower constantly leaked and no air vents to let the steam out, couldnt open windows fully as they opened on side street, the bathroom is getting mouldy round the ceiling due to no air vents, also the back door what leads to outside garden, the door opens the wrong way for you to walk down steps, garden needs maintaining vine and thick nettles everywhere also could do with a hoover too, all there was a dust pan and brush and a long brush, which we had to clean out, positive side we enjoyed the accommodation and hot tub, as I struggled with aches and pains, we did ring and spoke to a chap of the management team, he was going to tell the caretaker but never heard a thing back, he said he was going to get a airer to us. Also noticed after conversation with management team, noticed the reviews were the same issues as ours, this property looked after properly from caretaker would be even nicer. In the end we did have a good holiday.

For the price we got exactly what was described, great location nice and spacious and generally clean, a little disappointing that the light on the hot tub still did not work after all the comments about this but that was not the end of the world, location is fantastic with everything you need within proximity, we will go back again

The cottage was lovely, and in a great location. Only a short walk to the beach a lovely walk into Prestatyn, and next door to a shop, pub, chippy etc. The instructions for the binsrecycling were a little outdated as there was no black box for recycling, and some of the bins were still full from previous guests. The house was lovely and clean when we arrived also. My only comment for improvement would be to look at the fridge as it doesnt seem to be cold enough, and to fix the lights in the hot tub with it going dark a lot earlier now. This however did not affect our stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you!
Debbie
This was a lovely property. However there were a few small issues. When we arrived on Friday the bins outside the property on the path were full. The information provided said the bins were emptied on Saturday but they were not emptied all week. The information on which bins were for recycling and general rubbish were not clear as we could not find the containers with the liners stated. The baking trays and grill pan in the oven were left greasy and unwashed. Having a washing machine was very handy but there was nowhere to hang washing to dry. May I suggest a rotary washing line in the garden. The hot tub was lovely but we were a little disappointed that the lights on it didnt work as we were looking forward to using it in the evening with the mood lighting. All this said we did have a lovely holiday. Thank you

We recently stayed for a family holiday in Cwm Pennant and would highly recommend the area. There are pubs, a cafe, an arcade and it is a 20 minute walk from the beach. I booked this as I was taking my mum with mobility issues and it was one storey and this was great for her to get around. Whilst we enjoyed our stay it is unlikely we would rebook. The hot tub was not maintained the week we were there and the manual stated not to maintain it ourselves by adding in chlorine etc. The gardens were also overgrown and not maintained which was different to the pictures when booked. The facilities in the cottage were poor for example no wine glasses, no hand wash, no washing up liquid, no cooking oil etc. Every cottage I have stayed in a cottage lodge before they have at least the basic necessities however this was not the case unfortunately. The photos showed larger rooms and a larger grassy area outside however it is evident that the pictures had been taken zoomed out. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and it was great to spend time together as a family. We just felt for the price for a week, the cottage did not live up to our expectations.
We really enjoyed our stay, the beds were comfy and the space was very welcoming. We couldn't work out how to dispose of our waste, the instructions in the property didn't seem to match the bins outside. The hot tub was amazing, very clean but the lights inside it didn't work so we couldn't just it in the evening, that might have been as well for the neighbours anyway. The fridge was not keeping our food cool enough, we had food wastage, I think it should be replaced. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I'm sure with those few tweaks the property would get a 10 out of 10, we'd rate it 9 out of 10 as it is at present.
The most magnificent holiday i ever had its a place recommended for a super holiday
I was shocked to read some of the reviews for this place it was a gorgeous place. Perfect location really good size and perfect for a nice getaway. I found it clean and tidy. Was a little bit of rubbish in the garden and a dog poo but inside was great. I thought the hot tub water was little bit low but still had a relaxing sit in it. For the price you cant complain its the cheapest place Ive stayed in and definitely the best one I 100 would go back.

Check in is 15. 00 we arrived at 16.00 and couldnt get in, when we did we discovered the oven is loose and pulls out of the housing, the floor in the kitchen is dangerous, severe trip hazard. The door to the garden is hung the wrong way round, fall hazard. There are no lights in the hot tub garden area. Also the rubbish in the garden is a ratseagull heaven, several plug sockets dont work and we weren't convinced the bed sheets had been changed! With a bit of thought and time this place could be stunning but as it stands it really shouldnt be let out.
The Property was freezing cold on our arrival! The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, mold on walls, rubbish and weed killer left in garden not safe for pets or children. no mattress or pillow protectors on beds. lots of rubbish under beds. Kitchen floor lifting and bits snapping off when walking over it. The worse cottage we have ever stayed in !

I arrived at the property at 3. 50pm along with my sister and two kids and my friend and was disappointed to find the bungalow had not been cleaned There were dirty towels on the floors the beds was not made and also the kitchen was a state with the stove having been used and left as its as and a baking tray used and not washed the sink area where there was dirt accumulated under the drying rack which had dishes drying on there. We ended up wiping down areas just so we could make brews The bathroom sinks were dirty and also the bins in bathroom were full there were labels and hangers in one of the bedroom Hair on the sofas and Clearly someone had stayed here and no cleaner had been in to clean prior to our arrival. This was shocking and also put a downer to the start of our holiday We contacted the number given and a cleaner contacted us who was lovely and started cleaning whilst we were here we had travelled from Preston and the kids and ourselves were hungry and were looking forward to sitting down for a meal but the kitchen was in no state to be used. It was 5.30 ish and the cleaner was still here so it is very much an inconvenience as we were just hanging around waiting.i also received a call just then to say the hot tub needs a clean and asked us if they could come clean it to which I agreed and he also said he needed to use the water which added to the inconvenience and we advised them to clean them so we could use the hot tub the next day. But that time its was like 6.30pm and we started our holiday. The house was nice overall if it was clean and everything was ok the. I would have gave full 5 stars but our holiday started not so good. Afterwards we also notice hazard in kitchen the floor was dangerous they need to sort that out they have put rug there but its not big enough I have pictures of it too, and Sykes did not contacted me back but after I came back I get the feedback email. The owner away good as he sorted everything out. Sykes please let the owner know next time on time so they can clean the house before next guest.
Andrew
Bins overflowing when we arrived understand it was NY so collection may have been different but it shouldnt be like this for new paying guests. No collection during the period of our stay and we had neighbours complaining to us as seagulls made a mess of the bins on the 1st night of our stay, we collected all the mess ourselves in the rain. We had to make a makeshift bin area in the garden for ours. Rubbish was all over the gardenfront areastreet from previous guests Broken floor in kitchen in multiple places braking as walking on it, which was very dangerous, especially as we had young children with us Broken lightswitch in bunk bed bedroom Oven not screwedfitted in kitchen fell out when opened door Shower in ensuite very loose not fixed Hot tub was unusable as not warm on 1st night surely can have a fitting from the hot tap in kitchen to fill with warmer water so its ready and not fill with cold? Hot tub was on a programmetimer and went colder on NYD so was unusable again for a 2nd night Hot tub lights didn't work, the garden light was blocked by the big shed and when in hot tub, it was dark and we had to use the light of our phones when in there TV wrong remotes for the TV, couldnt turn off subtitles or the automated adverts for the TV need the correct remote Was generally a nice property but it seems the building work has been rushed and there is a lot of snagging to be done for guests to be happy with the property
Rebecca
We had a wonderful stay! The house exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only was it impeccably clean, but it also exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location couldn't have been better being within walking distance to the beach allowed us to easily enjoy the stunning coastline. It provided the ideal blend of tranquility and convenience. The thoughtful amenities and attention to detail by the host made our experience truly memorable. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a fantastic location with topnotch accommodations, this is the place for you. Five stars all the way we can't wait to come back!
Thank you for a lovely holiday. Great location, perfect base to explore wales. Clean and modern property.
Angela
There were several safety issues within the property which made it unsuitable for disabled or young children. I have taken photos of these and will be contacting further. The property itself is nice , clean and uncluttered but without adequate cooking or household utensils. eg no iron, tiny pans and no casserole dishes. Small things but we had to go and buy them. The property currently breaks lots of safety requirements for a holiday let, the laminate in the kitchen is a trip hazard, the cooker slips easily out of its housing when you open the door, the outside step has a significant drop, which is more dangerous because of the angle of the door. Beware the hot tub, it hasnt been properly maintained and the water has algae in it. A simple fix but one that we werent prepared to undertake ourselves.
The house was really nice, it had everything that we needed and it was really clean. The house was always nice and warm, it was warm on arrival which was really nice to walk into. The garden was lovely and maintained well. A few bad points were the flooring in the kitchen, luckily I dont have young children or crawling children because the laminate is broken and catches your feet when you walk on it. The hot tap and the cold tap are backwards in the main bathroom, the toilet seat also isnt attached properly in the main bathroom. The light fitting in the main bedroom squealed when the light is on so I couldnt use it. The hot tub needs a clean the water was a funny colour, it was very slippery on the bottom we only used it once because of this. The back door is very difficult to open when its been locked so much so I had to ask my husband to do it each time I needed to go out. If these bits were addressed the property on a whole is really nice and well worth a visit.
Cynthia
On arrival we found the rubbish bins overflowing and strewn all over the driveway not a great start but put right on day 2 On entry very nice bungalow well set out. Then the fun began the laminate kitchen floor had lifted in places and bits were breaking off and it became a trip hazard, the oven hasnt been fixed to the cabinet so when you pull the door open the whole oven follows and the socket behind the microwave doesnt work. The toilet seat in the main bathroom is broken and moves each time you sit on it and the taps in the bath have been plumbed in backwards hot is cold and cold is hot. Shower head in en suite loose and small head doesnt stay in place. Last of all the hot tub on removing the lid the smell was awful and the water quite dirty looking we reported it to the caretaker who did manage to get a guy to come from his sick bed to clean it and refill it sadly we think it needs replacing as by day 4 the smell had started to return the hot tub guy agreed. Please can they also put in a step from patio doors in bedroom as its rather a drop. Lastly pillows and mattress in main bedroom have no protectors on so on removal of bed linen they had stains on them. We did ring the caretaker and point out these things but nothing happened with any maintenance apart from the hot tub. Thank you Luke. We had a nice few days but kept wondering what we would find next taking pictures as we found faults so we werent blamed for anything think the owner needs to take a look around.
When we arrived the property was lovely however when checking the property at the beginning we noticed that the toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken so we mainly used the toilet in the ensutie as didn't want to cause anymore damage to it, and there was also the mirror was cracked and the wall by the front door had a chip in it above head height. Also the bins there needs to be more of a notice that the bins need putting out as if you don't look in the book you will not know about this like us But other thank that the bungalow is lovely very homely and would 100 book again. Many Thanks Linda
